Out-of-season life requires one to venture further afield. “Ellie’s tabletops” in Kardamena are held roughly every two-to-three weeks. The venue is Ellie’s Carvery which is repurposed for the morning to hold 20 or so tables. These a hired for each session by private vendors who offer a variety of goods. Amongst the most popular are homemade products. These include jams, pickles, pasties, pies and cakes….more of which in another post.
With seemingly ongoing road works one almost inevitably ends up parking several tens of metres from the venue. On a fine day this make for a pleasant amble…allowing one absord the “out-of-season” look and feel of the place. However, on wind swept, rainy occasions the hoods go up before getting out of the car and one cuts alively dash in order not to get soaked.
